Rosie O’Donnell and Wife Adopt Baby Girl
Rosie O'Donnell and her wife Michelle Rounds announced on Wednesday that they adopted a baby girl named Dakota, the New York Daily News reports.
The comedian and talk show host posted a picture of herself and Rounds, O'Donnell's second wife, with their new addition on her Twitter account.
"we r thrilled to announce the arrival of r daughter Dakota #withloveandthanks - AMEN," O'Donnell, 50, tweeted.
According to O'Donnell's publicist the couple adopted Dakota and said the "moms and baby are happy and healthy."
Including the newborn, who was born on Jan. 5 and weighed 5 pounds, 5 ounces, the actress has five children, USA Today notes. She has four kids with her ex-wife, Kelli Carpenter.
This is Rounds' first baby and USA Today reports that O'Donnell told Dr. Oz on his daytime talk show that Rounds was "trying to get pregnant." Later on, however, Rounds was diagnosed with desmoids tumors, which is a rare condition that requires Rounds to undergo a number of operations.
O'Donnell married Rounds, 41, in June in New York but didn't make their marriage known until after she suffered a heart attack in August. The women were engaged on television in December 2011.
