World premieres, top documentaries and LGBT films from around the world highlight the 30th Annual Boston LGBT Film Festival, which takes place over 10 days next month, running from April 3rd to the 12th. Films will be screened at various venues around the area, including the Institute of Contemporary Art, The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, The Brattle Theatre, The Coolidge Corner Theatre in Brookline, and the Bright Family Screening Room at the Paramount Theatre.

Kicking off the festival is the spectacular documentary "TO BE TAKEI," directed by Bill Weber ("WE WERE HERE") and Jennifer Kroot ("IT CAME FROM KUCHAR"). The film will be making its LGBT Festival debut direct from the Sundance Film Festival. Guests from the film will be in attendance. The 2014 Centerpiece screening will be the New England premiere of the amazing documentary "THE DOG" in its first US screening since Sundance and the Berlin Film Festival. The closing night film will be the World Premiere of the Dutch teen love story "BOYS," directed by Mischa Kamp.

In addition to "BOYS," the festival also has several other World Premiere Screenings. We'll be premiering two romantic comedies: "BOY MEETS GIRL," a story about three friends and their troubles deciding just who they are in love with. And "THE 10 YEAR PLAN," directed by festival favourite J.C. Calciano ("eCUPID, IS IT JUST ME?"), in which two friends make a deal to be together if they are both single in ten yeasr but then realize they don't want to be when the time hits!

This year marks the debut of a Latino Film Program. Funded by a grant from the Boston Foundation, the festival is brings the latest in contemporary cinema from the Spanish and Portuguese speaking world. This program premieres at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston on Friday, April 4 with the beautiful "EVERYBODY HAS SOMEBODY...BUT ME" from Mexico. Directed by Raul Fuentes, this stunningly shot film tells the story of a passionate affair between a woman and her secret lover. Please see below for a complete list of films in this program.

The Festival is also debuting the Contemporary American Cinema series with several films detailing the lives and tribulations of LGBT people and their straight allies. We'll be screening the New England Premiere of director Ron Judkins' "FINDING NEIGHBORS" starring Michael O'Keefe as a graphic novelist struggling with writers block; the East Coast Premiere of "DRUNKTOWN'S FINEST" (straight from Sundance); and the World Premiere of J.C. Calciano's "THE 10 YEAR PLAN" (the third film in the trilogy of searching for love in Los Angeles) will be opening the Cambridge part of the film festival.

International film is once again central to the program. We are screening the East Coast Premiere of "DUAL" from Slovenia, the US Premiere of "LAND OF STORMS" from Hungary, US Premiere of "OFF ROAD" from Italy, and "TRU LOVE" from Canada.

You can join the Boston LGBT Film Festival staff and volunteers this Sunday for the annual Preview Party at Post 390.
