Caitlyn Jenner took to Twitter this weekend to post an inspiring 4th of July message to her 2.63 million followers.

"Happy 4th of July! Proud to be an American ... where at least I am free to be me," Jenner wrote on July 4, referring to her public gender transition.

Jenner's tweet came along with a photo of a large framed American flag.

Since revealing her new identity in Vanity Fair last month, Jenner has made a few public appearances, most notably attending New York City Gay Pride last month. In her interview with Vanity Fair, the Olympic champion opened up on her confidence since becoming her true self.

"Even my son, actually, Burt said that to me one time. He goes, 'To be honest with you, I think Caitlyn is a lot better person than Bruce,'" she said, referencing her oldest son Burt Jenner. "And I really have to - I think he's right, because Bruce always had to tell a lie, he was always living that lie, every day, he always had a secret from morning till night. Caitlyn doesn't have any secrets."

Jenner is currently filming a docu-series for E! called "I Am Cait." It's set to air on July 26.
