Tegan and Sara Video Features LGBT and Trans Youth
Lesbian twins Tegan and Sara have released their new video for the song "Faint of Heart," and it features a passel of transgender and LGBT youth dressed as musical icons like Prince, David Bowie, Madonna, and even the Quin twins themselves.
The Daily Dot reports that queer social media stars including Tyler Ford, Ella Giselle, Dominic Ravina, Olabisi Kovabel, Cooper Treibel, Eli Erlick, and Ni Ching-Marino appear in the video, along with the stars of the Emmy-nominated series "Her Story."
Jen Richards and Angelica Ross, both out-transgender actresses, play the moms of two of the youth, and are featured helping them sew costumes and get ready for a faux version of "Lip Sync Battle."
The shoot for the video, which premiered yesterday, happened the day after the Orlando Pulse nightclub shooting that took the lives of almost 50 LGBTs in June.
"There was something very personal aboutthistragedy and that was undoubtably on our minds as we arrived on set," Tegan told Teen Vogue. "From the second we walked in, I felt incredibly emotional."
