PopUps: Will Lady Gaga 'Beyonce' Her Upcoming Album?
Lady Gaga recently announced a new single called "Perfect Illusion" will be out next month. This probably means little monsters can expect the singer's fifth studio album to follow before 2016 ends. And while Gaga's album rollout cycle is fully underway, there's no telling how she will release her new material.
Over the last few years, the way artists release their music has gone under a major change, and an anonymous industry insider told Page Six Gaga will "pull a Beyonce" this fall, referring to the surprise release method Beyonce used to drop her last two albums.
However, a source close to the "Just Dance" singer told the newspaper Gaga will release her album more conventionally.
"She will probably have an album out this year, but I doubt she's going to keep it secret," the source told Page Six. The source added Gaga's work on her new album was also at the root of why she split up with fianc Taylor Kinney in July.
"They realized they needed a break when she started working on her album," the source said.
While not much is known about LG5, it was confirmed that "Uptown Funk" hitmaker Mark Ronson worked on the record and co-produced "Perfect Illusion" along with Kevin Parker, the front band of the critically acclaimed psychedelic rock band Tame Impala.
