PopUps: "Hiddleswift" Is No More

Wednesday September 7, 2016

The gossip machine is in full swing today.

A number of publications, including People magazine and Us Weekly, are reporting that after their three month summer romance Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston have broken up.

The duo's relationship became one of the most-talked-about and scrutinized celeb romances in some time. The pop star and the actor displayed their affection in a series of photoshoots from Swift's Rhode Island home, New York City and London.

"She was the one to put the brakes on the relationship," a source close to the couple told Us Weekly. "Tom wanted the relationship to be more public than she was comfortable with. Taylor knew the backlash that comes with public displays of affection but Tom didn't listen to her concerns when she brought them up."

The source added Hiddleston is now "embarrassed that the relationship fizzled out."

"It was an intense start," another source said of the relationship. No one can keep that kind of momentum going...They get along great and will remain friends, but they just don't see it working romantically right now," the insider told Us Weekly.

Two weeks after Swift, 26, broke up with producer/musician Calvin Harris, the U.K. tabloid the Sun published photos of the "All Too Well" singer canoodling with Hiddleston, 35, at her Rhode Island home. Swift first met Hiddleston at the 2016 Met Gala where a video of them dancing together went viral.

After confirming their relationship, Swift and Hiddleston became huge tabloid fodder and Swift was spotted meeting the "High Rise" star's parents and traveling to Rome and Australia with Hiddleston. During their three months together, many speculated that their relationship was fake, with Hiddleston using the singer to gain fame in order to be cast as the next James Bond.

Neither Swift nor Hiddleston have commented or confirmed the reported breakup.
