PopUps: Lana Del Rey Claps Back at Spin Magazine

Friday May 12, 2017

Spin magazine tried to come for Lana Del Rey for some reason, after the "Summertime Sadness" singer appeared on the cover of Elle U.K. and gave the publication a lengthy interview.

After obtaining Del Rey's interview quotes, Spin tried to throw some shade at the musician, claiming Del Rey's talking points about being happy are vague. Spin's headline reads: "Here's a Lana Del Rey Interview About Nothing."

But Del Rey wasn't having it and clapped back at the music mag.

In response, the "Love" crooner sent a direct message to Spin via Twitter, simply writing: "Go fuck yourself."

Unsurprisingly, Spin decided to capitalize on Del Rey's message, publishing another story called "But Lana, We Love You."

Check out Del Rey's Elle U.K. quote that Spin wrote about below:

I think happiness is the ultimate life goal. I think it's the only thing that's important. There are no mechanisms in place for routes to happiness, that's the whole f*cking problem. I think people are unhappy in school - the education structure has been the same for a long time and kids are still not satisfied with their educational experience. And you don't have enough conversations when you're young about what makes for a satisfying, mutual relationship. Those collective life experiences - your youth, your academic education and your education about business, marriage or relationship goals -- they all lead up to your collective happiness. I think the emphasis is on the wrong things and it has been for a long time.

Del Rey's new album "Lust for Life" comes out later this year. Check out the title track below.
