PopUps: Lana Del Rey's Song 'Cola' is Apparently About Harvey Weinstein
One of Lana Del Rey's most iconic lyrics comes from her 2012 song "Cola."
The track opens: "My pussy taste like Pepsi Cola."
The song, thought to be about older men, is apparently about Harvey Weinstein, according to Page Six.
A source told the newspaper "Cola" is ironic and Page Six stresses Del Rey "wasn't into Weinstein at all." The source added the singer wrote the track after the disgraced movie mogul pursed her.
"She rebuffed him, she had a boyfriend," the source added.
The original lyrics for "Cola" included Weinstein's name:
"I got sweet taste for men who're older / It's always been so it's no surprise / Harvey's in the sky with diamonds / And it's making me crazy / All he wants to do is party with his pretty baby."
Another source told Page Six Weinstein lost it when he heard his name in the song.
"Harvey went bananas and insisted Del Rey change the lyrics," they said. The singer changed the lyric to: "Ah he's in the sky with diamonds and he's making me crazy."
Page Six notes Del Rey made the song "Big Eyes" for the 2014 film of the same name, which was distributed by The Weinstein Company.
