"Looking" and "Mindhunter" star Jonathan Groff has joined the cast of "The Matrix 4," according to the entertainment website Collider.

Groff joins Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Ann Moss, who are reprising their "Matrix" roles Neo and Trinity, respectively. Also joining the cast is "Watchmen" star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in an unknown role. Also Jada Pinkett Smith will return as Niobe. Jessica Henwick and out actor Neil Patrick Harris are also joining the highly anticipated project.

Lana Wachowski is returning to direct the film for Warner Bros. She, along with her sibling Lily Wachowski, helmed the original "Matrix" film, along with its sequels "The Matrix Reloaded" and "The Matrix Revolutions."

Like a number of the roles, Groff's part in the new film is still unknown and being kept under wraps, Collider notes.

Production for "The Matrix 4" is expected to begin in early 2020.
