Watch: Meet Nikki Spitz — Queer Comic Jimmy Fowlie's OnlyFans Alter-ego

Wednesday August 26, 2020

Queer actor and comic Jimmy Fowlie introduces a new character — Nikki Spitz, an adult male performer coping with the pandemic. Watch his hilarious video.

You might recognize queer actor and satirist Jimmy Fowlie from roles on "Two Broke Girls," "The Comeback" and "The Other Two." Or from his award-winning web series "Go-Go Boy Interrupted" —an award-winning comedy that follows Danny Carter, a 30-year-old go-go boy who ages out of his "career." More recently he appeared on stages in Los Angeles in New York in his solo show ""So Long Boulder City," which he based on the fictional show created by Emma Stone's character Mia Dolan in the 2016 film "La La Land."

"There's a certain poignancy in the fact that the stunt could bring Fowlie (who's previously best known for his 'Go-Go Boy Interrupted' web series) the kind of attention that Mia so desperately craved, wrote Variety in reviewing the Los Angeles production. "If the goal here is to make real the humiliation merely alluded to in the film, Fowlie and co-writer/director Jordan Black have done so without diminishing Mia's sense of heartbreak — which just goes to show that amid the absurdity, they've actually made us care about the character."

He is something like the Sacha Baron Cohen of queer comedy with a multitude of characters available to watch on his YouTube channel. His latest, Nikki Spitz, offers a hilarious commentary on what it is like being a porn star (with a specific fetish) during the pandemic. "I work in the adult entertainment industry," he says as a way of introduction. "And I am known for being absolutely disgusting."

He's not quite adapting to the new normal. "I did what a lot of performers did: I tried to make an OnlyFans," Spitz, alludes to enjoying being spat on (hence his name) and golden showers, in the clip. "But for me, I thrive off people. And you can't really humiliate yourself."

But he also uses the video to make a socially responsible statement about having sex during the pandemic.
