"Juno" writer Diablo Cody and Madonna have been spending a lot of time together, clearly working on some sort of project. But during an Instagram Live video Thursday the pop star confirmed that she and the Oscar winner are working on a biopic about the Material Girl.

Madonna also opened up about the plot, saying it will be "about my struggle as an artist trying to survive in a man's world as a woman, and really just the journey." She added that it will be a "happy, sad, mad, crazy, good, bad, and ugly" story that made her the pop idol she is today.

The "Girl Gone Wild" singer also said that the duo has written 107 pages of a script so far and will likely end up with a 2-hour movie. She also said film producer Amy Pascal is involved in the project but Entertainment Weekly reports that a rep for Pascal said: "the producer's involvement is not firm at this stage."

"We do talk about Andy [Warhol], and Keith [Haring], and Jean-Michel Basquiat and Martin Burgoyne and the whole coming up as an artist in Manhattan, downtown, Lower East Side in the early '80s," Madonna teased of the film. "Honestly, [it's] one of the best times of my life, and one of the worst times. I hope I can portray or express what a thrilling time that was for me in every way."

The movie will also apparently feature several moments from Madonna's life, including her time filming "Evita" with Broadway legend Andrew Lloyd Webber.

"I think I had a few nervous breakdowns worrying that I was going to be fired every day," Madonna said, later adding, "No, [Andrew] wasn't, he was not nice to me. I'm not sure he even wanted me in the movie."

Of course, the project will feature a number of Madonna's songs and iconic moments throughout her music career but she stressed: "it's not a musical."

"[T]here's a lot of music, and there's a lot of the actress who will play me singing my songs, but in places where she's supposed to be singing," Madonna said in her Instagram Live.
