Happy Pride from Queer Twitter

Pride Month on Twitter is a time for inside jokes, celebrating queer representation that made a tremendous cultural impact, remembering the significant moments in our history, and reigniting classic gay memes.

This year, the queer community has kept up tradition by sharing hilarious TikToks, educational Twitter threads, and important celebrity news. We're honored to do our duty and share all that queer magic with you.

Being in community online means uniting to remind each other of the allies who supported us in the past, and saluting to queer history being made right now. These tweets feature a birthday wish to Judy Garland, reminiscing about Melanie Lynskey and Lisa Ann Walter in iconic roles, and Madonna supporting the community with vital information during the HIV/AIDS crisis.

Of course, people have been sharing all the classic gay memes, too. It's important to stay true to our roots and remember that history is made wherever people are — shopping at Target, waiting in the ER after a sex-related injury, at Pride with your baby daddy, and in your workplace when your boss unexpectedly hands out cash to the office gays.

These posts showcase the joyous work of queer creatives: the T-shirts they've designed, the unforgettable comedy sketches, and the unintentionally ridiculous TikToks they've recorded in their car after drinking boba for the first time.

Pride month is an exciting time to honor the fictional characters who have represented us on screen (including those we decide to interpret as queer). Here we've got tweets about Pokémon queer icons Team Rocket, a nod from "Mythic Quest" and "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" co-creator Rob McElhenney acknowledging the queer characters on his shows, and love for trans-coded "Across the Spider-Verse" teen Spider-Gwen.

Finally, of course, we've got to include the celebrity shenanigans and interview clips that keep us going. These tweets show "Heartstopper" cuties Joe Locke and Kit Connor out and about enjoying Pride events, professional soccer players celebrating their win in a way we can really appreciate (we've got tons more evidence of this here if you're into it), throwback Beyoncé interviews, Taylor Swift supporting her queer fans, and we've gotta love a "Yellowjackets" MILF saying "I love you, lesbians." Happy Pride!
