Steve Mazzari felt the earth move as a 3.9 trembler struck the Bay Area. Not long after, his mustachioed good looks struck social media the same way when his interview with a local news station went viral.

The 28-year-old software engineer was out with friends at San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf on Friday night, Oct. 27, when the quake happened, UK newspaper the Daily Mail reported. Speaking with local news station KTVU, Mazzari explained he'd been "slamming some Dollaritas up at Applebee's with my friends" when the seismic event happened, "and it was a big shake."

"Dollaritas" was a (now concluded) drinks promotion at the chain restaurant, in which margaritas were available for $1 each, the newspaper explained.

Hearing that the quake registered 3.9 on the Richter scale, Mazzari, who had guessed it to be a 3.0, exclaimed, "Ooohh... that might be the biggest one I ever felt."

Some viewers evidently had the same response — to him. Social media lit up with thirsty acclaim for Mazzari's TV appearance.

"I did not think it was going to go that crazy," Mazzari said in a subsequent interview. "No, not at all."

It's not just the gays who have taken a shine to the handsome viral star.

Talking with SFGate, Mazzari described how the interview came to be. He was "was still riding the buzz when a KTVU-TV camera person flagged him down as he walked out of the restaurant about an hour later around 7:30 p.m," the news source recounted.

"My brain just lit up like a Christmas tree," Mazzari told the publication. "I was like, 'Hell yeah, let's do an interview.'"

The apparently straight social media phenom embraced his social media fans in turn, whatever their orientations might be, taking the attention in a good natured way.

Mazzari suggested that, in real life, the viral snippet had upped his dating game. "Let's just say, this week I'm a very busy man," he shared with SFGate.

Among the messages he's gotten: "This girl I went on a date with like two and a half years ago messaged me and said, 'My friend wants to go on a date with you. She thinks you're her soulmate.'"

The mustachioed hunk even gave a shoutout to LGBTQ+ equality.

And, in a shoutout to all of San Francisco, Mazzari told SFGate: "You ever see me, you ever want to drink a margarita? I'm always down and around. So keep the vibes going."
