Watch: 'Get Out' Star Allison Williams in Creepy Doll Film Called 'M3GAN'
There is a new killer doll in town, and she has killer dance moves from what we can see from the film trailer.
As reported by Gizmodo, the upcoming scary movie titled "M3GAN" sees "Get Out" star Allison Williams design the perfect robotic companion with artificial intelligence. The catch: she goes psychotic.
"She's more than just a toy. She's part of the family," reads the film's synopsis. "M3GAN is a marvel of artificial intelligence, a life-like doll programmed to be a child's greatest companion and a parent's greatest ally. Designed by brilliant toy-company roboticist Gemma (Williams), M3GAN can listen and watch and learn as she becomes friend and teacher, playmate and protector, for the child she is bonded to."
The whole story harkens back to the "Chucky" horror film franchise, but it sounds like M3GAN gets smarter and smarter as she learns to adapt to her world.
"When Gemma suddenly becomes the caretaker of her orphaned 8-year-old niece, Cady (Violet McGraw, 'The Haunting of Hill House'), Gemma's unsure and unprepared to be a parent," the synopsis continues. "Under intense pressure at work, Gemma decides to pair her M3GAN prototype with Cady in an attempt to resolve both problems—a decision that will have unimaginable consequences."
From producers James Wan ("The Conjuring") and Blumhouse ("Halloween"), "M3GAN" will hit theaters in Jan. 13. But you can terrify yourself now by watching the. trailer below.
