Lesbian couple featured in Ebony’s "Black Love"
A lesbian couple is featured in Ebony magazine's "Black Love" issue this month.
The 65-year-old publication, which focuses on the African American community, included couple Yanette L. Freeman and Willa Walker in their "Black Love" issue, which provides an annual look at African American relationships.
Freeman and Walker, who have been together for four years, discuss in the article how the women met, and the importance of their love for each other, according to a press release from the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD).
"I met my partner in 1998 via mutual friends," Freeman told the magazine. "The official year of our union was 2007, and I've never been happier in my life."
Walker continued: "When meeting [her]...and our group of friends in the late '90s, it was exciting and new for me. [We got] closer over the years, and it has been one of the best experiences of my life."
