Caitlyn Jenner Wants to Cancel 'Cancel Culture'; Then Twitter Responded
Did Caitlyn Jenner find her campaign theme on Thursday?
Taking to social media, the recently-announced gubernatorial candidate for the planned recall election for California governor tweeted: "When elected Governor of California, I will CANCEL, cancel culture and wake up the woke."
Well, Twitter has since responded by reminding the gubernatorial candidate of a dark incident from her past.
"The message was one in a series of tweets Jenner sent Thursday, many of which called out current Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom for being a corrupt career politician," according to The Hill.
What's more, Jenner is also canceling her famous family members from being part of her campaign, as the Deseret News reported, "Jenner told 'CBS This Morning' that she doesn't want her family involved in her political run, either."
"I did speak with all my children and I said, 'Hey, I don't want one tweet, I don't want you — this is my deal,'" Jenner told "CBS This Morning."
She added, "I said if anybody asks any questions in the media — because obviously they are in the media — I just said, say 'no comment,' address your comment to me."
Caitlyn has six children: Burt Jenner and daughter Cassandra "Casey" Marino, from her first marriage to Chrystie Jenner (née Crownover); Brandon and Brody Jenner, from her second to actress Linda Thompson; and Kendall and Kylie Jenner, from her marriage to Kris Jenner (née Houghton). In addition, Caitlyn was step-parent to Kris' children from her previous marriage —Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, and Robert Kardashian — who all have starred on "Keeping Up With the Kardashians."
What Caitlyn didn't expect was the pushback to her "cancel" statement on social media, which recalled the 2015 traffic accident in which she was involved when her SUV ran into a vehicle driven by Kim Howe, an animal rights activist and actress, who died in the crash.
