Pete Buttigieg and Husband Chasten to Become Parents
Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg and his husband Chasten are going to be parents for the first time, reported USA Today.
The former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, tweeted that the couple have started the process to start a family, and they "can't wait to share more soon."
"For some time, Chasten and I have wanted to grow our family," Buttigieg wrote. "We're overjoyed to share that we've become parents! The process isn't done yet and we're thankful for the love, support, and respect for our privacy that has been offered to us."
Chasten seems equally excited after quote-tweeting the post. Giving more details about the couple's desire to start a family, Chasten recently told The Washington Post they started the adoption process and were close to bringing a child into their home.
In an interview with USA Today last year, Chasten shared: "We have quite a few friends in our circle who've navigated that, so we've just been having a lot of conversations with friends and started trying to figure out what will work for us."
