Olympic athlete Gus Kenworthy is out to prove he is worthy of our attention after he hangs up his skis for good. Kenworthy, who will represent Team Great Britain (not America) in the next Winter Olympics, says he has a lot of plans after his athletic career, including acting and adoption.

Making the press rounds before his Olympic swan song, Kenworthy told People magazine that he will be thinking about his mom during his final competition.

"I'm very excited to get to kind of pay tribute to her at my last Games," he said. "I wish she could be there in person, but, with COVID and everything, she won't be. But I know she's going to be very excited to watch."

In a more wide-ranging interview with British GQ, Kenworthy shared that he is taking it day by day when it comes to his other prospects such as acting.

"I mean, I don't think I'm a great actor, but I also don't think I was a great skier when I was younger. I just loved skiing, and I worked really hard at it," he said. "I was the first person on the chair and the last person to leave, and I think that's what allowed me to progress."

At only 30-years old, Kenworthy says he still has more to give to athletics. "But I am very much nearing my expiration date," he said.

When Kenworthy grabbed a silver medal for Team USA at the 2014 Sochi Games, his adoption of a family of dogs made the headlines.

With it being his last Olympic Games, Kenworthy is planning to go out with a bang.

"Fifteen. Twenty," he says about the amount of dogs he will adopt this time. "My boyfriend's like, 'We're not bringing a dog back,' And I was like, 'No, we definitely are.' And he's like, 'We really are not'. We'll see."

The world will be watching.
