Everybody Loves a DC Capital Pride Parade!

Washington, DC-The 37th Annual Capital Pride Parade steps off Saturday, June 9, 2012, 4:30 pm, at 22nd & P Streets, NW, Washington, DC. Note: the parade begins one hour earlier this year.

Voted DC's best parade each year by readers of the Washington City Paper, the Capital Pride Parade travels 1.5 miles through Dupont Circle and 17th Street and ends in the Logan Circle neighborhood of northwest Washington, DC. The parade is expected to attract more than 100,000 spectators.

This year's Grand Marshal is Monte Durham, co-host of TLC's Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta. The parade will include more than 170 contingents-floats, vehicles, walkers, entertainment-consisting of local businesses, Capital Pride Heroes and Engendered Spirit awardees, politicians, community groups, drag queens, dogs, and much more. The review stand is located at 15th and P Streets, NW in front of Tortilla Coast.

Later that evening, B.O.I. Marketing & Promotions, The Ladies of LURe, and Capital Pride are hosting FUSE, Capital Pride's main women's event, 8 pm - 2 am, at Phase One Dupont, 1415 22nd Street, NW. Entertainment includes DJ Rosie & DJ MIM, and DystRuXion Dancers. 21 and over. Cover: $15.

Capital Pride is organized by Capital Pride Alliance, Inc., a non-profit entity incorporated in the District of Columbia with the sole purpose of supporting, planning, and implementing annual Capital Pride events and related activities throughout the year. Capital Pride's 37th Anniversary Celebration will feature activities, events, and educational forums, May 30 to June 10, 2012.
