Matinée Pride Celebrates Its Biggest Weekend Ever
Matin�e is celebrating its five-year anniversary at Pride in New York City this June with its biggest weekend ever, MATIN�E PRIDE 2015. Taking place Friday, June 26 through Sunday, June 28, the weekend will consist of four spectacular events including Friday's Matin�e Main Party at Capitale, Saturday's Circuit Festival Rooftop Party, Sunday morning's Action Afterhours, and Sunday's VIP Boat Cruise. Matin�e Pride weekend 2015 will launch Friday, June 26 at 10 p.m. with Matin�e's Main Event at one of New York City's most impressive, state-of-the-art arenas, the historic Capitale. Jaw-dropping staging and incredible production will be flown in directly from Spain. For the first time ever at any Pride event in the world, attendees will experience the same Pixmob technology that activated crowds during the Super Bowl Halftime show and the Olympics Opening Ceremonies. International DJ superstar Boris, best known for his 12-hour marathon sets of slick, pumping house music, will spin the beats until the early morning along with Lydia Sanz and Rico Alexis, who kicks off the night.
The fun continues Saturday at 2 p.m. at Copa when, for the first time ever, Circuit Festival joins in on the madness of Matin�e Pride. Enjoy the boys and beats of the world's biggest gay event on the city's most exclusive rooftop, right in the heart of Hell's Kitchen. Matin�e will transform the roof with its own custom light and sound installation. DJs Tom Stephan, The O'Halley Brothers, Serving Ovahness, Dawson and more, to be announced soon, will man the decks until 10 p.m. ABSOLUT Vodka will present a thirst-quenching open bar from 2 p.m.-3 p.m. and guests will be the first to experience the world's only 360� Movie-Booth, as seen as on the red carpet at the Grammys and Oscars.
Of course, it wouldn't be a party weekend without a little Action. Action Afterhours begins Sunday at 5 a.m. at Mach 8, New York City's hottest late-night venue, renowned for its award-winning integral sound system (the same sound system used at legendary NYC nightspots Sound Factory, Twilo and Roxy). Resident DJ Billy Lace will headline alongside DJs Hannah and SDOT, to keep Pride Saturday Night going with one of NYC's sexiest parties.
Culminating the weekend will be the all-new VIP Boat Cruise at Circleline Pier 83, conveniently located in midtown Manhattan. Partygoers will sail off into the sunset to experience breathtaking views of the Statue of Liberty and New York City skyline as they dance to the high-energy beats of DJs Tony Moran and Theresa. Boarding starts at 7:30 p.m. and ship sets sail at 8 p.m. Revelers will enjoy a very special, explosive surprise before the ship returns to dock at 11 p.m.
Matin�e launched nearly twenty years ago in Ibiza with the idea to elevate parties by crafting elaborate sets and theatrical productions. Since 2010, Resnicow and PatrickCrough have brought the international party franchise to the states with incredible spectacles in various cities including Miami, Orlando, Vegas and Los Angeles. It all started at in New York City during Pride.
"There was something special in the air that night," recalls Crough. "The energy, the music, the magic of experiencing Matin�e in Manhattan for the first time. To this day, there are two or three tracks that when I hear them, they always take me back to that night."
