Equality March for Unity and Pride Launches Queer Resistance Bootcamp
WASHINGTON, D.C.- On Monday, the National Co-Chairs of the Equality March for Unity and Pride launched its Queer Resistance Bootcamp, an afternoon of grassroots training to arm attendees with the tools and skills for community organizing and resistance needed to keep their activism going long after the march.
The purpose of the Bootcamp is to offer local D.C. advocates, and those that travel to D.C. for the march, an opportunity to get practical education about the LGBTQ+ movement, tools to resist backward policies, skills to push our progress forward, and opportunities to connect local and national allies. The Queer Resistance Bootcamp will be led by a group of local DC LGBTQ+ organizers the afternoon of June 11.
"From the beginning, the Equality March for Unity and Pride has engaged local community organizers," said local LGBTQ+ community organizer Khadijah Tribble "Now, after months of planning with the most diverse group of LGBTQ+ activists I've ever seen, we're ecstatic to engage on our issues during, and long after the march. With this Bootcamp, attendees will receive evidence-based information from seasoned, successful activists to organize their communities to win full equality."
