New England Revolution Host First Pride Night During Boston Pride Week

(Boston, MA) - The New England Revolution hosted their first official Pride Night on Saturday, June 3 which was organized by the Midnight Riders and Boston Pride. The Revolution's Pride Night took place during Boston Pride Week which included more than 30 events and celebrations for the LGBTQ community and allies.

Pride Night brought together members of the Revs and Boston community both on and off the field. The evening's event kicked off pregame with Adam Sell, Philanthropy Chair of the Midnight Riders, singing the national anthem before the match, and Liz DeSelm the second out transgender person in Massachusetts to be elected to public office in the Commonwealth, recognized as the Revs Honorary Captain for the match.

While on the field, Revs captain Lee Nguyen and players sported rainbow sweatbands, the pitch featured rainbow corner flags, the Pride flag flew high above Gillette Stadium, and a portion of ticket sales were donated by the Revolution to Boston Pride.

Liz DeSelm of Melrose, MA, the second out transgender person in Massachusetts to be elected to public office in the Commonwealth, was recognized by the New England Revolution as the Honorary Captain alongside Toronto FC midfielder Benoit Cheyrou and Revs midfielder Lee Nguyen at Gillette Stadium during Pride Night on Saturday, June 3.
