Pornhub Celebrates Pride by Releasing Gay Porn-Viewing Stats
In celebration of Pride month, mega adult video streaming website Pornhub has examined statistics detailing the porn-watching habits of the American gay male. The results are in, and the study shows what we all already knew. Gay guys watch a lot of porn.
According to Pornhub's Insight blog, gay male content makes up 6.3% of all page views in the United States overall. However, some states are doing more gay porn watching than others. With 7.9% of page views focusing on gay porn, non-LGBT friendly Mississippi leads the pack with guy-on-guy movie watching. The District of Columbia comes in a close second at 7.8%. Surprisingly, New York, the state hailed as being "the Sodom of the North" placed fifth behind Louisiana and Georgia.
Variety is the spice of life, and with close to 40 categories, gay men have their pick of fetish and focus on every race, body type, age and predilection. Broken down by region, the Midwest prefers the "straight guys" category. Black guys are the preferred flavor in the Southeast and Mid Atlantic. The Western States and Florida like Bareback movies. Latino porn is big in California, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas and New Jersey. The colder climate states of Alaska, Minnesota and Wisconsin seem to go for Twink porn. And New England's most populous states are hot for Daddy movies.
The stats also show that gay men tend to watch more porn as they grow older. A little over six percent of pages viewed are in the 18 to 24 age group, but closer to 10% among visitors aged 55 and above. Viewers�over the age of 45 represent more than 30% of all gay viewers, while that group is only 21% of non-gay viewers.
