Bronx Pride :: August 15, 2010
On Sunday, August 15, Bronx Pride took place in Crotona Park. Over 2,000 attendees showed visibility in the Bronx, honored NYC Council Speaker Christine Quinn, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. and NYS Senator Ruth Hassell-Thompson and were treated to a four hour entertainment program featuring RuPaul’s Drag Race’s Sahara Davenport and legendary freestyle artist Safire. Over 20 community based organizations came out to table and increase visibility of the LGBTQ populations in the Bronx.

St. Pete Pride Parade Part II :: June 26, 2010
Today we commemorate the bravery of the Stonewall rioters with a parade on the last Saturday of June. This tradition started in 1970 with a couple of large cities, New York City, Los Angeles, and Chicago. It has since become a focal point for the solidarity of our community across the nation. The City of St. Petersburg has been celebrating its GLBT community with a Pride Parade for the last eight years. Within this relatively short amount of time, St. Pete Pride has grown into one of the largest Pride events in the southeast and is the largest Pride event in the state of Florida. What started as a few thousand native Floridians and a couple city blocks on beautiful Central Avenue has become an international attraction, spanning eight blocks and attracting tens of thousands of people.

Brooklyn to finally get its own LGBT community center
The Brooklyn Community Pride Center, which currently operates out of Borough Hall, continues the process of securing its own facility in order to better serve the roughly 250,000 LGBT people who live in Kings County.
