Gay activists march in India’s gay pride parade
Men wore sparkling saris, women wore rainbow boas and hundreds of people chanted for gay rights in three Indian cities Sunday in the largest display of gay pride in the deeply conservative country where homosexual acts are illegal.

WIU celebrates Gay Pride Month
Thirty-nine years ago, on June 27, 1969, a group of men rioted following a police raid on the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in New York City. Dubbed the Stonewall Riots, this event is considered to be the beginning of the modern gay rights movement, and the month of June is traditionally noted as Gay Pride Month across the U.S.
Trans March turns five
Now in its fifth year, the annual Trans March will kick off Pride weekend Friday night with what organizers expect will be its largest crowd yet. Attendance could number 10,000 marchers this year as several hot button issues have focused attention on concerns facing the transgender community.

New York Pride :: Garden Party 25
It’s the premiere LGBT tasting event in the country, benefitting the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center of New York. This year the pier event celebrated both the 25th anniversary of the Center and the 25th Garden Party with more than 30 restaurants, an open bar and star-powered entertainment including the return of host Kate Clinton. Guests sampled dishes from the city’s best restaurants, visited booths from community organizations and enjoyed entertainment, while politicians greeted-and everyone enjoyed the open bars. 2008 Rhode Island Pride Festival
Saturday, June 22nd dawned bright and beautiful, a perfect sun filled day for Rhode Islands 32nd Annual Pride Festival. Over eight hours of entertainment on the main stage headlined by Tiffany, numerous vendors and thousands of participants made for a great day.
