Watch: 'House Hunters' Features First Ever Throuple
Most episodes of HGTV's popular show "House Hunters," in which people see three homes and pick which one they want to move in, feature innocuous couples. But the long-running series featured the show's first-ever throuple, three people who are in one relationship, the New York Post reports.
The episode on Wednesday showed Brian, Lori and Geli, who are all partners, looking for a home in Colorado Springs. Brian and Lori have two children together and met Geli at a bar and fell in love with her four years ago. The three didn't get legally married but they did have a ceremony to confirm their commitment to each other.
"I understood from day one, even when we were dating, that Lori was bisexual and interested in women and men. And so, we evolved to a point where we were comfortable having another woman in our lives," Brian said in the episode, according to the newspaper.
Geli added that buying a home together was the next step in their relationship. Being in a throuple requires some specificities in a home, however.
"The past four years, I've been living in Lori and Brian's house, so buying a house together, as a throuple, will signify, like, our next big step as a family of five rather than all four of them plus me," Geli said.
E! News also did a feature on the trio, where Geli told the outlet that she "didn't plan on being in a relationship with a married couple, but it just happened very naturally, organically."
HGTV released a statement about the episode, called "Three's Not a Crowd in Colorado Springs."
"We feature all homebuyers and living choices," the network said.
