Anthony Mackie ("The Night Before" and Netflix's "Outside the Wire") is a big Betty White fan, AV Club reports.

In a Thursday visit to "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," Mackie explains that after filming, he often unwinds by watching "Golden Girls" re-runs on the Hallmark Channel — "and if you don't know me, I'm a 'Golden Girl' kind of guy." Fallon responds, "man, they can land a joke, huh?" to which Mackie says "oh they kill it" before praising the varied talents of White and co-stars Rue McClanahan, Bea Arthur, and Estelle Getty.

When Fallon asks if Mackie ever met White, he recalls an event a few years ago in New York City he met White and "I fanboyed out and ran right up to her and was like 'oh my god I love you so much, I'm such a fan — like the episode when you were tapdancing was so beautiful.'"

And White's response? Mackie said, "she laughed and touched my face and she says 'oh you make me wish I was 40 years younger!'"

Elsewhere in the interview — which was to promote his upcoming film "Outside the Wire" — Mackie discusses doing his own stunts after his double was injured on-set; he also dishes on football star Tom Brady (who Mackie would ask to "hug" and "comb his hair"), and actor Paul Rudd's acerbic sense of humor.
