Openly gay "Schitt's Creek" star Dan Levy is poised to write, direct, and star in a feature film, titled "Good Grief," for Netflix, according to People Magazine.

Levy took news of the film to his Instagram account on Oct. 18, where he posted a headline from Deadline about the project.

"Well, this is a g d dream come true!" Levy captioned the post.

Netflix had already announced the project the day before. People Mag reported that the logline sketches the plot as follows: "Marc Dreyfus chose to distract himself from the loss of his mom with a comfortable marriage. But when his husband also dies, unexpectedly, Marc is forced to finally confront the grief he's tried so hard to avoid, sending him and his two closest friends on a Parisian weekend of self-discovery."

"Good Grief is a cautionary tale about friendship and loss and all the mess that comes with it when the truth is something you've evaded for most of your life," the first-time director weighed in. "It's funny, it's bittersweet, it's a project that has helped me work through my own grief. And I hope it does the same for other people as well."

Deadline noted that the film's cast includes "Loving" Oscar nominee Ruth Negga, "Yesterday" star Himesh Patel, "Beauty and the Beast" star Luke Evans, Celia Imrie ("Better Things," "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel"), and Arnaud Valois ("BPM Beats Per Minute," "Spring Blossom").

Reports last year said that Levy had signed on with Netflix to develop content for the streamer, starting with "a romantic comedy he'll write, produce and star in." It's unclear at this point whether "Good Grief" is that same project.
