Watch: Teary-Eyed Gaga Surprises Fan During Makeup Tutorial
Brandon Galaz is a Lady Gaga superfan, and was inspired by her to go into cosmetology. As part of her Haus makeup brand launch, she invited him to come to meet one of her makeup artists, Sarah Tanno. During the session, however, Brandon received the surprise of a lifetime, as Lady Gaga appeared and shared some inspiring words with him.
He even got to read the letter he prepared for her in person. A teary time was had by all.
"I don't know what age exactly I knew I was gay, but I always felt different and that I had no one to turn to for advice," Brandon wrote. "Your lyrics in 'Born This Way' spoke to me." He went on to share his coming out story with his family, as well as why he decided to go into makeup.
She gave him several hugs and told him how brave she thinks he is. "You're so brave and so beautiful...I love you," Gaga said.
After the initial encounter, Gaga left for a short time but had to return for one last message to Brandon...
"My mic's not on anymore and they probably can't hear me, but I just want to say that letter that you wrote is why I do what I do. Thank you for sharing that. It's so vulnerable, so honest, so real," she told him. "That's not easy, what you did. You just changed a lot of people's lives. When they see this, they'll be less afraid."
