Netflix Calls Out Users Who Find Ted Bundy Hot

Thursday January 31, 2019

There's been a big uptick in Ted Bundy news lately.

The serial killer is the subject of an upcoming movie that debuted at the Sundance Film Festival over the weekend with Zac Efron taking on the lead role. As it screened, the trailer for "Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile" hit the Internet and people were split about the trailer's tone. The Washington Post published a piece called "Zac Efron as 'Hot Ted Bundy': A 'romanticized' serial killer? Or a convincing one?"

But the movie isn't the only new Bundy content. Netflix recently released a docuseries called "Conversations with a Killer," timed to the 30th anniversary of Bundy's execution. Of course, Bundy was convicted of murder after he confessed to 30 homicides that he committed in seven states between 1974 and 1978.

So, there's been much chatter surrounding Bundy — and his looks. And Netflix called out users in a tweet who were thirsting over the so-called hot serial killer.

"I've seen a lot of talk about Ted Bundy's alleged hotness and would like to gently remind everyone that there are literally THOUSANDS of hot men on the service," the official Netflix Twitter account wrote, "almost all of whom are not convicted serial murderers."

The tweet went viral, earning over 112,000 likes and nearly 21,000 retweets.
